About

Disaster resilience is a multidisciplinary academic concept and research field investigating the capacity of systems, communities, or individuals to resist, absorb, accommodate, adapt to, transform, and recover from the effects of a hazard in a timely and efficient manner, including through the preservation and restoration of essential basic structures and functions. It encompasses the dynamic processes and inherent strengths that enable entities to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events, thereby minimizing negative impacts and facilitating sustainable development and security in the face of diverse threats.
